Susan Cashman

Professor Emeritus

My research integrates field-based structural studies and geologic mapping with kinematic and microstructural analysis to address tectonic questions.  My interests include structures in active fault zones (from deformation bands to fault rocks), structural development of active margins, and regional tectonics of the western United States.  I’m currently involved in a collaborative project with undergraduate and graduate students and other researchers to investigate the tectonic development of the southern Cascadia forearc using a combination of field studies, thermochronometry, and geodynamic modelling.
