HSU Geology offers two majors, Geology BS and Geology–Geosciences concentration BA.

Geology BS

The BS degree is a comprehensive degree designed to prepare students for professional careers in the geological sciences, like geotechnical and environmental consulting, engineering geology, natural resource geology, or research.

Geology–Geosciences concentration BA

The BS degree is designed for students who desire an education that combines a strong geological background with another field of study, including (but not limited to) geospatial analysis, environmental science, education, or business. This degree is designed for students who are interested in careers or graduate work in broader fields of environmental science, hazard/resource management and planning, environmental policy, and teaching. As part of the degree, the student enrolls in at least 12 units within one of many approved second disciplines to broaden their interests.
